Red, white and blue, Re-Styled!

When it comes to fashion, I tend to take a walk on the wild side. When attending clubs, parties or events I like to be over the top with my fashion choices and I like to make heads turn. Sure, my style isn’t for everyone… but I love for it to at least be appreciated as art. Some people paint canvases, others carve marble… and my method of art is simply, dressing myself!

For the 4th of July, I’ve styled a day outfit in my previous post which I would probably wear while running errands and/or shopping. This outfit is obviously a LOT more flashy and would be worn to a club, bar or festival event of some kind.

Using the same high low skirt I found at Forever 21, I simply pulled it up and wore it as a strapless top. Another reason to love high low hems, they can be worn as skirts, or tops! The super wide red belt I found at Junk For Joy in Burbank, CA and cinches the top perfectly to fit my figure.

These sunglasses are just spectacular! They were a gift from a fashionable friend. I had just met her, and was hanging out at her house after a party we attended. I tried these shades on and she said, “They look amazing on you, they’re yours…” I happily accepted and wore them the entire rest of the day. Later on, on closer inspection I come to read the inner part of the shades and what do I see? “Handmade in France” Ohhhh LA LA!!! What a fancy pair of shades I’ve been gifted! They are by Mannequin. Thanks Jane, I love them still!

These shoes you may have seen in a prior post. I found them at the Salvation Army for 3 dollars! Like the shades, the shoes are so unique and avant-garde. Just my style.

The skirt is a vintage piece I also found at Junk For Joy and is made entirely of gold sequins. I would love one of these skirts in every color of the rainbow! I added satin gold gloves for some arm zazz and viola! The perfect re-style.

This is my hobby. This is my joy. This is my art.

Happy Independence day!

Red, white and blue, let me inspire you!

Like most old folk, I adore dressing up for holidays year round. I may skip the tacky, wool sweaters bedazzled with beads, glitter and pom poms… but I make attempts in my own fashion to be in the holiday spirit! Whether it’s Valentine’s day, Christmas or one of my favorite holidays for fashion…. Independence Day!!!!

Red, white and blue is a great color combo, however it’s kind of difficult to rock any other time of the year. (Unless you’re my grandma who is the Queen of Red, White and Blue— seriously, I’m not joking, she was in the newspaper many years ago with that headline. She’s very patriotic!) For the rest of us, we can aim to rock those magnificent three colors roughly about this time of year!

Independence Day is still a few days away, but I’ve already created a trendy, cute outfit just for the day. (Night, of course, is a different story… I have a whole other 4th “party” outfit coming in an upcoming blog post.)

Believe it or not, this is my “toned down” 4th of July outfit. This amazing high low skirt I found at Forever 21 for less than $20!

I have to be extra cautious when kicking when I have these spiked Lita’s on. ;)

This is an awesome stainless steel double finger ring that goes with soooo many different looks, I love it. It was $35 at a small boutique in downtown LA.

By ruffled red bag is by Big Buddha which I found at Ross (for $35) long before I was interning for the company! I love the femininity of it, and the chain adds a dash of spunk.

Love love loved this outfit and I hope you enjoy all of it, or at least some of it! Right now is a great time to find any articles of fashion in a patriotic theme, considering it’s been a hot trend recently. Why not add a little more to your 4th of July and rock those patriotic colors?

If you’re not following already, I would absolutely LOVE you to follow my blog, and in a few days I will be posting my 4th of July outfit, RE-STYLED! You have to have a different outfit for the night right?
