Black and White, an Outfit for the Night.

The entire outfit was assembled around the headpiece, which I can proudly say I MADE!! Sparkly, sharp and extremely beautiful; it’s an accessory that flows with my personality like no other. As I stated on Instagram, I actually have one more of these pretty pieces which (someday) will be posted for sale. More details about the piece will come then.

Black and white is still a hot color combo for the season and pretty easy to put together. You can’t really screw up black and white ya know? I had been saving this peplum, houndstooth skirt for the perfect occasion, and it went great with this outfit. Garter tights are super trendy right now and hot hot hot, I suggest getting a pair NOW if you like the style. Just make sure to stay away from drunk Argentinian broads at bars who are likely to accidently burn a hole in your fabulous new stockings with their cigarette butts. (UGH!)

As usual I feel that every outfit is made by the accessories, so I had to pile them on. I like to sparkle so much when I enter a room, that people need sunglasses to look at me. ;)

Glitter, rhinestones, sequins, diamonds…. I love em all.

I loved this entire look (which I styled in about 25 minutes). The makeup, hair, clothes, shoes, and even nails worked together to create a visual symphony of a chic black and white ensemble that received quite a bit of positive attention out on the town. Ahhhhh, I love dress up.

Details on outfits often include where I found the item and its cost, because I think one of my specialties is dressing well on a low to middle income budget and still looking like a million bucks. It’s all about hunting for treasures and scoping out affordable places to shop such as sample sales, flea markets, thrift stores, etc. Spend less on clothes, and invest on shoes or accessories!

Holiday Party Style Inspiration

Ladies, it’s that time of year when dressing for a party becomes much more fun! Any other time of the year, really anything goes for party… but the holidays calls for a specific color palette and festive accessories!

Using Polyvore, I created some style sets to help with some holiday party inspiration!

Set I:

With this color combination you are SURE to have all eyes on you when you enter the room. The black and gold add touches of elegance and style while a bold red dress says confidence! (And confidence is very appealing!)

Set II:

If dresses aren’t your thing, but you still want to look ultra fabulous, then something like this is perfect! Printed pants are super stylish right now and how can you not love the metallic gold on black floral motif? Add a sleek black blazer and some bold accessories and you are perfectly suited for your holiday party.

Set III:

This look combines a little more festive spirit with a cute, holiday inspired mini top hat. If you’re going to a holiday party, might as well go all out and get in the spirit with at least one holiday inspired accessory! Don’t just look good, look the BEST! Even if you just attach some red poinsettia’s or holly berries (from a craft store) to your outfit in some way, it adds so much more to your attire.

Set IV:

I can’t forget all the women out there who prefer a men’s style of dress. (AKA all the lesbians!) Hahahaha. Seriously though, this look is stylish and festive for any woman that prefers menswear. Whether you like a bow tie or neck tie, this look is going to be fantastic either way. Having a festive holiday sock peeking out every now and then is the icing on the cake.

Hopefully these style sets get your own creative juices flowing and I’d LOVE to see any holiday looks you create this season! Send me your best holiday outfits or looks through Facebook!

Cheers everyone!

An Outfit with Edge!

If you are regularly following and reading my blog, then you must know by now… my style has a lot of “edge” to it. Sure, I can do the feminine, girly, frilly thing and it is fun (sometimes). But for the most part, I love to incorporate studs, black, leather, spikes, lace and unique jewelry to create an edgy appeal.

On this day I chose to re-create an entirely different look with my gorgeous burn-out velvet kimono featured in a previous post.

By simply pairing the kimono with all black and silver accents I’ve created a look with a lot of sass, punk, glam and edge!

Easy outfit made up of black skinnies, a black tank, and the kimono. As always, an outfit is never complete without at least two accessories. Think rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, headbands, hair clips, etc. ALWAYS accessorize to complete the look!

Feather earrings: Beth Nouveau

Bag: Big Buddha

Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

Kimono: eBay

Red, white and blue, let me inspire you!

Like most old folk, I adore dressing up for holidays year round. I may skip the tacky, wool sweaters bedazzled with beads, glitter and pom poms… but I make attempts in my own fashion to be in the holiday spirit! Whether it’s Valentine’s day, Christmas or one of my favorite holidays for fashion…. Independence Day!!!!

Red, white and blue is a great color combo, however it’s kind of difficult to rock any other time of the year. (Unless you’re my grandma who is the Queen of Red, White and Blue— seriously, I’m not joking, she was in the newspaper many years ago with that headline. She’s very patriotic!) For the rest of us, we can aim to rock those magnificent three colors roughly about this time of year!

Independence Day is still a few days away, but I’ve already created a trendy, cute outfit just for the day. (Night, of course, is a different story… I have a whole other 4th “party” outfit coming in an upcoming blog post.)

Believe it or not, this is my “toned down” 4th of July outfit. This amazing high low skirt I found at Forever 21 for less than $20!

I have to be extra cautious when kicking when I have these spiked Lita’s on. ;)

This is an awesome stainless steel double finger ring that goes with soooo many different looks, I love it. It was $35 at a small boutique in downtown LA.

By ruffled red bag is by Big Buddha which I found at Ross (for $35) long before I was interning for the company! I love the femininity of it, and the chain adds a dash of spunk.

Love love loved this outfit and I hope you enjoy all of it, or at least some of it! Right now is a great time to find any articles of fashion in a patriotic theme, considering it’s been a hot trend recently. Why not add a little more to your 4th of July and rock those patriotic colors?

If you’re not following already, I would absolutely LOVE you to follow my blog, and in a few days I will be posting my 4th of July outfit, RE-STYLED! You have to have a different outfit for the night right?

Stacking silver + a new watch!

It’s been a long time since this gal has owned a watch. I don’t know what took so long, but I think I was just waiting for the perfect watch to come along. I finally found it!

My new Michael Kors watch! This watch sells for $200 at Nordstrom!!! Do you really think I’d ever pay that?! Heck to the no! Not for a watch!!! Shoes, maybe… but a watch? Nevahhh!

I’ll give you ONE guess where I found this magnificent time piece, and it starts with an R and ends with an SS. I went in for a rug, and came out with a chair, margarita mix, a rug and this watch. I tell ya, Ross is going to be the death of my income. Anyway, I got this watch for an extreme bargain and I absolutely love it!

This watch (or any watch) looks incredible when stacked with other bracelets of the same metal color family. Golds with gold, rose gold with gold, or silver with silvers. You get it.

Add a couple rings and in an instant your arm looks like a million bucks!

Indulge on accessories!

Glamour + Casual= GlamCas

If you don’t know by now, I love all things glamorous. Even on casual days, I like to have a little glamour mixed in to my outfits when possible.

Besides the shoes and bag, this outfit was rather inexpensive. The tank, skirt and denim jacket are ALL from Ross!!!! The jacket was $15, the tank was $8 and the skirt was $12! The main outfit was only $35 bucks, which of course leaves a lot of room to splurge on accessories, shoes or a hand bag!

I absolutely adore big, chunky jewelry, so this chrome beaded necklace was a must when I saw it. The ring and necklace are both from the Icing and were probably about 10 dollars each. I’ve paired this outfit with my Jeffrey Campbell Prickly’s.

Whenever you have a high waisted skirt, just throw on a belt for some extra flair. Every fashionista should have at least a few wide belts, in black and neutral colors. A wide belt worn at the skinniest part of your waist will help achieve an hour glass figure and create a curvy appearance. I also love wide belts because they look great on all body types from thick to thin!

This outfit combines my love for glamour, my personal edge and the denim jacket adds the perfect casual element to make the outfit wearable during the day.
