Wardrobe Favorites

You may have seen this jacket in other posts, as it happens to be my favorite piece in my wardrobe two years running now. It truly is the perfect L.A. jacket. Great construction, beautiful leather & suede, and a perfect fit. I want ¬†one in every color of the rainbow. Except orange… I definitely do not want one in orange. ūüėČ

MyTribeLeatherJacketTMThe jeans are my first pair of Joe’s and I am pleasantly surprised. They have a great fit, along with the perfect length (hard to find when you’re a Shorty McShort Short) and again, I’ve worn them frequently and they hold there shape very well. No saggy knees, no stretched out booty.

And ahhhh those beautiful stiletto heels. Metallic in color and a unique cage style design. They are made by¬†L.A.M.B., Gwen Stefani’s fashion line. I scored these beauties at Nordstrom Rack for less than half the original price. Yesssss!

Cruella, Cruella De Vil

Halloween 2014 brought on one of the best costumes I have ever pulled together. Miss Cruella De Vil, a classic Disney villain that utilizes one of my favorite color palettes!

Naturally, with my insatiable love for all things glamour, creating her look wouldn’t be too difficult as¬†it just so happened that we had this funky, polka dotted Isabel De Pedro dress on sale at work, and so I was able to work it into my own glamorous rendition of the wild¬†fur lover, Miss De Vil.

I wore the entire ensemble to work at Fred Segal and was heavily applauded for my artistry. On my break I strolled through downtown Santa Monica and the masses just loved it. I had cars drive by and yell, “Cruelllllaaaaaaa!” and lots of people ask for photos. It felt¬†amazing!

Uniform Freedom

Yes, I am the weirdo in the bathroom that when you walk in, I’m standing in front of the mirror taking outfit selfies. Of course once you burst in, I quickly lower my phone¬†and turn my body to pretend I wasn’t just taking 20 pictures of myself. LOL! We’ve all been there. We’ve either been that¬†person, or we’ve seen¬†that person.

I take a photo of my outfit every day at work, so here I am being that girl.

…and there you have it. My work uniform is whatever my little fashionista heart desires. I hope to make this¬†a regular installment on my blog, featuring five outfits from recent days. What is your favorite outfit?

A Dash of Vinca!

All black everything… it’s a great look. It really never fails. Perhaps I should be living in New York? Pfffft, no way,¬†I prefer my California sunshine. <3

¬†This particular outfit incorporates some goth, and my favorite comic book character of all time: Catwoman. I don’t know, I just feel a little Catwoman-ish in this ensemble. I think its probably those heeled boots I have on… which¬†I found at Ross for $20 btw!!! Yessssss.

But seriously, the white hair, the red lips and nails and the silver accents just look so fierce altogether. How bout those accessories huh? You’ve seen a lot of these pieces in other posts, however my unique¬†crow necklace is totes new to this blog. The necklace is from¬†Vinca jewelry and it’s all made here in the USA (yesss!) I picked up a couple of fabulous pieces from Vinca but the crows are my absolute favorite.

What a unique piece right?¬†Crows…? A lil’ Alfred Hitchcock piece perhaps? I ran over a crow once. It was the worst. I felt its skull pop under my tire. I cried for at least 8 minutes. It was terrible. But forgive me, this isn’t a roadkill blog. ; )

So yeah, I LOVE the absurdity of those shiny black crows gliding¬†over my collarbones having people ponder the¬†what the piece is about. The necklace has got that unique edge that I just love… Thanks for the creativity Vinca!

Also thanks goes out to my photographer of the day, Cooper Griggs. He was kind enough to snap these shots and make them beautiful for me! Thanks Coop!

Pin Up Style, Baby!

Remember I went to a pinup shoot a while back? (In case you missed it, you can read about it HERE.) I helped style some of the girls, and I got a few sessions of my own in. Of the four different looks we shot, I’ve received the sets from two of the photographers that day. They came out so great and I am one lucky girl getting to participate in the day’s festivities.

This set was shot by professional photographer, Isaac Suttell. Please see Isaac’s website for more of his phenomenal work!

Isaac’s photos came out absolutely stunning and I couldn’t be more honored to have had him shoot me. On a personal note, I’m not one for being tan, however this particular set of photos inspires me to get a little more sun this summer! Hehehee. Although I must say, Isaac captured me as a porcelain doll. Thank you Isaac!

Off to the Theatre! (again)

The Book of Mormon recently played for a few months in Hollywood at the Pantages Theatre. I had heard so many good things about it, and saw that it was nominated for quite a few awards so I definitely had to see it.

For my girlfriend’s birthday, I scored us hot tickets to the show with fantastic seats! For my outfit, I ended up creating a look that mixed a classic vintage look, with some edge. If I could go back, I would have dropped the edge, and just kept it classy glam but what can you do, this is my look for the night:

One of my favrite beauty looks is platinum hair, dark eyebrows and red lips. I melt any time I see it, and love to pull it off myself. I know I know, a lot of people can’t stand dark eyebrows with light hair… but you know what I can’t stand? Bleached eyebrows!!!! What the heck is that?!

Where are her eyebrows?!??! Oh yeah!!! She BLEACHED them!!!

Moving on…

This gorgeous dress I scored at a sample sale in downtown LA for a mere 10 bucks. This dress retails for 90 dollars! The shoes are my fabulous Prickly’s by Jeffrey Campbell and of course my clutch is Big Buddha.

Loving the sleeve detail, and how the edges turn slightly upward.

After a lovely dinner at a nearby restaurant, we headed over to the gorgeous Pantages Theatre for the night’s show. Needless to say, the musical was fantastic and quite impressive with the actors, songs, and visual presentation. I especially loved the seemingly authentic African tribal costume and chant done in the “airport scene” towards the beginning.

Overall it was a fantastic show and the even the audience was great. My girlfriend and I had an amazing time and playing dress up beforehand was almost as fun as the musical itself.

Style in Gray Scale.

I was headed to a hip lil brewery over on the westside of Los Angeles for my friend Cooper’s birthday. The night called for a chic, edgy style that says “fashion forward.”

I had so much fun getting ready for this night. You know when you get something new, like a dress or a shirt, and you just can’t wait to wear it? And perhaps you just hang it in the closet and wait for the perfect occasion to come along? Well this was that occasion for me and this outfit. I got the shorts ( yes, they are shorts!) and shirt from a sample sale for like $10 bucks each, so as usual for me, I scored big time.

Love these hair picks which are sold by Antickquities on Etsy. They are made up of actual clock hands. Great price as well! I highly suggest checking out their shop!

Great outfits don’t always need color… here I’ve created a fantastic look using only black and gray. If you absolutely need a splash of color, that’s what lipstick and nail polish are for. ūüėČ
