Simple, easy, style.

simplestyle2

This look was as easy as taking two basic pieces; a black tank top and leggings, and then adding in color with accessories. I like to have better quality basics, and then statement pieces are fun to find second hand by thrifting, checking out consignment stores and one of my favorite shopping destinations Crossroads Trading Company.simplestyle

Wardrobe Favorites

You may have seen this jacket in other posts, as it happens to be my favorite piece in my wardrobe two years running now. It truly is the perfect L.A. jacket. Great construction, beautiful leather & suede, and a perfect fit. I want  one in every color of the rainbow. Except orange… I definitely do not want one in orange. 😉

MyTribeLeatherJacketTMThe jeans are my first pair of Joe’s and I am pleasantly surprised. They have a great fit, along with the perfect length (hard to find when you’re a Shorty McShort Short) and again, I’ve worn them frequently and they hold there shape very well. No saggy knees, no stretched out booty.

And ahhhh those beautiful stiletto heels. Metallic in color and a unique cage style design. They are made by L.A.M.B., Gwen Stefani’s fashion line. I scored these beauties at Nordstrom Rack for less than half the original price. Yesssss!

Uniform Freedom

Yes, I am the weirdo in the bathroom that when you walk in, I’m standing in front of the mirror taking outfit selfies. Of course once you burst in, I quickly lower my phone and turn my body to pretend I wasn’t just taking 20 pictures of myself. LOL! We’ve all been there. We’ve either been that person, or we’ve seen that person.

I take a photo of my outfit every day at work, so here I am being that girl.

…and there you have it. My work uniform is whatever my little fashionista heart desires. I hope to make this a regular installment on my blog, featuring five outfits from recent days. What is your favorite outfit?

Fringe Me Baby.

Getting these photos was a total covert operation. My buddy Cooper and I scoped out this location by “trespassing” onto the innards of the Mar Vista post office. We scaled their parking garage like ninjas, avoiding the “man” all the way to the top. That’s how we roll….

FringedSkeletonShirt

This rad fringed top was sent to me courtesy of the bad ass clothing company Iron Fist. For all the fierce, edgy and not afraid to be yourself divas out there, you simply must check their site! They’re even offering a sweet discount to my readers, just click the graphic at the bottom of this post, and don’t forget to use the discount code Rebecca13. Iron Fist is definitely not your run of the mill fashion and this top was one of my favs!!! Unlike a typical skeleton screen print, this particular design has a gorgeous floral motif woven under the rib cage which adds a little touch of femininity to the wicked cool design. And who doesn’t love fringe?!?!?!

The denim really takes the outfit down a notch and makes it a little more versatile for every day wear. However, depending on your height, you could possibly wear it as a dress with some fun stockings under or a short skirt.

Goth is Dead!

Ugh, when will all these goth kids GET IT?! Goth is DEAD! 😉 Just like punk is dead, emo is dead, disco is dead, skater is dead, Lolita is dead, and blah blah blah. But guess what…? I dress how I want!

pastelgoth6logo

What’s that? I’m invited to Bat’s Day at Disneyland? Well of course I’d love to go! Any excuse to play dress up! I wanted to explore the newest form of Gothic styling known as “pastel Goth” which basically includes all the lovely shades of black and rich textures; but features touches of soft pastel colors. All the cool kids seem to be doing it, so I wanted to be cool too.

batsday

A day filled with laughs, waiting in lines, giggling, photo taking, booze, more laughing and aching legs due to wearing brand new leather platforms to a giant amusement park. Although I don’t label myself as Gothic (or ever claimed to be “Goth”) I do adore Gothic fashion. Bat’s Day is a spectacular day to see all forms of Gothic styling from classy, really high end Victorian gowns to Hot Topic punk kids. Of course there is still a presence of mainstream public, so Bat’s Day is quite the interesting spectacle for those unaware of this special gathering.

Pin Up Style, Baby!

Remember I went to a pinup shoot a while back? (In case you missed it, you can read about it HERE.) I helped style some of the girls, and I got a few sessions of my own in. Of the four different looks we shot, I’ve received the sets from two of the photographers that day. They came out so great and I am one lucky girl getting to participate in the day’s festivities.

This set was shot by professional photographer, Isaac Suttell. Please see Isaac’s website for more of his phenomenal work!

Isaac’s photos came out absolutely stunning and I couldn’t be more honored to have had him shoot me. On a personal note, I’m not one for being tan, however this particular set of photos inspires me to get a little more sun this summer! Hehehee. Although I must say, Isaac captured me as a porcelain doll. Thank you Isaac!
